I gave this to my 6 year old son for Christmas today. We started making it tonight. It seems really cool so far. The instructions are pretty clear, but my kid does need help with it. Everything seems really quality. So far, what I've seen from Brick Loot is a really cool alternative to the name brand. For $20, this is a great value. It also came with a brick remover, and that's really nice for when you put something in the wrong place.The only thing that's annoying, and it's not a dealbreaker, but you pretty much have to open every bag to even start. I like when you can open one bag, finish it, then do the next one. It's a pretty small gripe though. This castle is shaping up to be big fun!

From the photo, I thought this would be bigger, but it's actually a fairly small-scale castle. And at just over 400 pieces, it doesn't take very long to build. It's not much of a playset, more of just a castle display figure. But it is fun to build, and has a lot of cool details.As far as the materials, I can't tell any difference between these and the real deal. The plastic seems the same quality as brand name. The fit is perfect, no manufacturing flaws. All the pieces were there. The most important thing with these kits is the instructions, and this kit has a great instruction booklet. Easy to follow, and easy to identify which pieces it's asking for.I'm really enjoying putting together these kits with my kid, he's able to help with some of the steps, and he loves building with the interlocking blocks. I love how the off-brand sets give you all the enjoyment of building with Legos at a fraction of the cost.
